My second promo bundle is now live, and it’s a doozy. 9 bestelling thriller novels from 9 bestselling authors for only .99! Which is insane, I know.
The authors are all writers at the top of their games, and friends of mine, who came together to create a holiday offering that was unbeatable. I think this bundle certainly qualifies. I mean, come on – even the cheapest among you can’t beat 9 for under a buck. Sure, you can find some freebies that may or may not read like a kid’s homework assignment, but 9 quality novels from bestsellers at the pinnacle of their careers? Best of luck finding a better deal. Or better books.
The reader wins on this one, which is as it should be. Any one of these books sells for $4-$7. And great values at that. But through the magic of volume, we’ve packaged them all at an incredible promotional price that won’t last.
Here are the novels and some highlights:
MJ Rose – The Halo Effect
Michael Wallace – The Devil’s Deep
Russell Blake – King of Swords
CJ Lyons – Snakeskin
Melissa Foster – Traces of Kara
John L. Betcher – The 19th Element
Claude Bouchard – Vigilante
Luke Romyn – Corpus Christi
Nick Russell – Big Lake
Facts about the novels:
People. This is your big chance to score. To be a winner. To prove all those saying bad things about you behind your back, including your family and friends, are a bunch of bitter rabble who should be crushed like grubs beneath your dancing jackboots. Because you’re a winner. You deserve this. This is your opportunity to climb the mountain of success and grab the fruit of achievement from the tree of plenty that is your birthright, as one of the few discerning geniuses to be on the inside track. Don’t squander what could well be your only chance to do much besides trudge down a desolate path fringed with disappointment and recriminations to the cold pauper’s grave that awaits you. Don’t find yourself lying on your deathbed realizing you blew this, like you have so much in your life. This doesn’t have to be like your relationships, your career or your health. On this one, you could have a big win, and for a fraction less than the price of stuff that costs a dollar.
What are you waiting for?
Available from Amazon, , , and .
What do you do when you write something that’s fun, funny, and you really enjoyed doing?
Write a sequel, of course.
Which brings me to BLACK Is Back, the sequel to BLACK. Oh, nothing. It’s just live, is all.
I think this second installment is actually more humorous than the first, although I’m clearly biased. What I can say is that fans of hard-boiled detective fiction with a cynical sense of humor will probably enjoy it. If you liked Get Shorty, this is up your alley. Fans of my action adventure stuff might wonder where the next car chase or explosion is, but that’s part of the fun of writing in a different milieu. Mixing it up. Keeping em guessing. And so on.
Here’s the cover. I’m hard at work on BLACK is the New Black, where someone’s killing the fashion models, and hope to have that out in mid to late November. Back to the ink mines on getting that whipped into shape. Hope you enjoy BLACK 2, as I think of BLACK Is Back. I think it’s a hoot.
In the vein of always trying something new, I’m excited to announce that I’m participating in a bundle promotion with some other great authors. The idea is to create such a powerful value proposition that it’s an irresistible buy, and a no brainer. The bundle is titled “Desperate Acts” and features seven bestselling authors, most of whom are friends of mine, and seven of their novels.
The authors are myself, CJ Lyons, Melissa Foster, MJ Rose, Kathleen Shoop, Jenna Bennett, and Katia Lief.
And the price? For seven complete novels? Oh, that. Wait for it…
It’s .99. Ninety-nine stinking cents. For under a buck, you get some amazing works. Whole books, not samples. And I even resisted the urge to remove every third word from mine in order to provide a reduced-value version of the actual book. Although some might argue that would make for a better read. But I digress.
“But why, Russell? Why are you doing these bundles? Don’t you value your work?”
Sure I do. But you know what I value more? Readers. The hopes of this bundle, as well as the one that I’ll be launching closer to the holidays, is to get my work into the hands of readers I might otherwise have never reached. It’s the same reason I give away a few books free. Because I believe that once a reader is familiar with my work, they might be motivated to try other books of mine. So I take a loss on the bundles in the hopes that I’m planting seeds for the future. Whether it works or not remains to be seen. Trust me that it’s not for the money. At .99 the 35% royalty split seven ways ain’t going to buy me no Ferrari. Not that I could be trusted to drive one responsibly. But I’m just saying.
The cover is pretty cool, and so’s the concept. Hopefully you’ll think so, too. You can buy it here. And you should. For yourself, and for all your friends. If you have any. If you don’t, I wouldn’t mind if you just bought them for random people, like everyone on your Facebook page. Or in your graduating class. Or Twitter feed. Hey, I know! This is a great idea to appear generous, like you bought people seven novels, which would imply you spent more than you do on a candy bar! When it fact you cheaped out! It’s perfect! Imagine how Grandma’s eyes will light up when she believes you finally turned the corner and stopped being such a miserable, selfish, cheap prick! That alone will be worth the buck! Xmas comes early in 2013, courtesy of the ever-generous Russell Blake. Grab it now, because it won’t be out that long…
