April 18th, the first installment of my new post-apocalyptic/dystopian series will launch. Titled The Day After Never – Blood Honor, it promises to be a non-stop adrenaline rush for fans of the genre, as well as, and I know this will sound weird, sci-fi, and…westerns.
I know. WTFF? But that’s how it turned out.
Here are cover reveals for the first and second installments, Blood Honor and Purgatory Road.
These will be priced in the weeds. $2.99 for the first installment, $3.99 for the second and third, which are longer.
Early beta readers are saying this is some of my best work. I’ll publish a sneak preview of the first bit in a few, but until then, I have…covers! I’m super excited about them, and think the design, by Elizabeth Mackey, rocks. But you decide:
Covers look great. I wish she did literary fiction covers. There are so few cover designers who have samples of them in their portfolio. I recently found a designer with covers in my genre that blew my mind, but they are $1,500 and up, and I can’t afford that.
Hi Kim,
Hope you don’t mind me butting in but I do sympathise with your cover dilemma.
I don’t wish to lead you astray or suggest anything unethical but (!) I wonder if you might consider using the prototype style of cover at $1.500+ as but an inspiration for a student graphic artist to produce a cover for you although at a price that will allow you to eat.
Just a thought. If it’s a bad thought then please forget it and ignore me.
Whatever, I wish you well and wish you much success.
Thanks for the kind offer, Zarayna. My cousin is a book cover designer and has done all my covers, but I am always looking in case she is too busy. Email me a link to your portfolio so I can keep you in mind. 🙂
Hi Kim,
Thanks for replying – very kind.
Wow, you have a talented cousin. Artistic genes must run in your family.
My above suggestion was not for myself. Unfortunately, the only painting I do now are doors and window frames. But I am told that, occasionally, we can find someone on fiverr (or similar org.) who can produce a reasonable job, particularly when given clear guidance. Something worth investigating.
I wish you well.
This looks to be a most intriguing series – I am really looking forward to reading.
The covers are beautiful. Lovely contrast of colours which contrasts with the desolation of the land/city-scape.
So, congrats to you and to Elizabeth Mackey.
Very nice covers indeed. Best of luck with this Series. Wondering if The Day After Never is caused by a nuclear war of negative interest rates, or both:) I look forward to reading them.
W4$
I can find the second book of the series on Amazon, but not the first (Blood Honor). Do you know what’s happening?
Amazon’s releasing it within a few hours. There was a small scheduling disconnect. All will be well by noon.
